Generally, all physician who treats patients with psychotropic medication is practicing  psychopharmacology. First, Doctors must completed residency training after medical school and have a high level of understanding and expertise in pharmacology, including psychopharmacology. Importantly, Psychiatrists (who have completed four years of specialized training after medical school) have an even higher level of knowledge and expertise in psychopharmacology.
